Privacy Statement

The purpose of this statement is to let users of glebe.com.au know what information is collected about them when they visit this site, how this information is used and if it is disclosed. This Privacy Statement covers all users of glebe.com.au owned by the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney.

Information collected

The information collected during each visit is aggregated with similar logged information and published in reports in order for the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and City of Sydney to identify patterns of usage of the site. This will assist us in improving the Service of the web site and the services offered.

The Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney will not disclose or publish information that identifies individual machines, or potentially identifies sub-groupings of addresses, without consent or otherwise in accordance with the New South Wales Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1988.

Cookies are not used on the glebe.com.au website to collect information.

Exceptions to the rule.

The Glebe Chamber of Commerce and City of Sydney will collect, use and disclose more extensive information than stated above in the following circumstances:

  • unauthorised attempts to index the contents of www.glebe.com.au by other sites;

The Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney reserves the right to make disclosures to relevant authorities where the use of www.glebe.com.au raises a suspicion that an offence is being, or has been, committed. Security of information stored.

Information collected is stored in an appropriately secure format and held by the Glebe Chamber of Commerce for archival purposes. When the information is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected it is deleted.

www.glebe.com.au provides registration facilities to allow users to access additional features of the website, and collects personal details when registration takes place. The provision of personal details when voting or registering is mandatory. This information may be used by the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney to provide you with communications regarding events and businesses you may be interested in. Registration and voting will subscribe you to further communications from the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney. You may unsubscribe from these communications by contacting webmaster@glebe.com.au or by using the unsubscribe link in the communications. The Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney may publish aggregated information about feedback on the site, to the extent that it does not identify or cannot be used to identify individual users.

Access to information within Glebe.com.au.

Access to the raw data is restricted to a limited number of officers of the Glebe Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of analysis and to report on the success of www.glebe.com.au in meeting the Glebe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sydney’s communication and access objectives. The officers who can access this data are members of Glebe Chamber of Commerce. If you would like to access information held about you by glebe.com.au please contact webmaster@glebe.com.au. Due to the developing nature of privacy principles for online communication, this policy may be modified or expanded in light of new developments or issues that may arise from time to time. The amended policy will be posted to this site and will operate from the time it is posted.
